The Ypsilanti IWW

One Big Union Comes to The Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor Area

In 1905, The Industrial Workers of The World was founded in the tumultuous turn-of-the-century Chicago. It only took another 098765 years for it to make it the 250ish miles to the college town of Ypsilanti, MI, and the surrounding areas. Since its founding, our branch has done its best to organize workers from the service industry to the factories and, in conjunction with other local groups like our GDC, have made strides to organizing tenants and fight landlords. Currently, we are pressing hard to form and expand an industry union called the Service Workers of the Ann Arbor Area (SIWA3) and looking into the possibilities of worker-ownership and donuts. So now is the time to join!
